Conclusion

Over all, honesty is a very important habit and life skill. Honesty can get you out of bad situations, and honesty can show trust in a person. Honesty can be shown in many different ways including to yourself and to others. Being honest to yourself is the first step, because if you are not true to yourself, then you won't be a trustworthy person to yourself, let alone others. Honesty to yourself can mean keeping something as simple as keeping a promise to yourself and not breaking it. It could mean accepting responsibility for your own actions or talking about your feelings. Challenge yourself to see if you are honest to yourself. Being honest to others is the next step in being honest. Honesty to others gains relationships and trust. Trust is very hard to get  from a person, but not if you are honest. Honesty to others could mean not stealing others belongings, not feeling guilty, or even looking at your own paper during a test. Honesty is used every day in so many different problems and situations. It gets you out of so many bad things and brings you to good. It also brings you to being a better person.

Step 7/part 2/ part 2

In the book, "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodie Picoult, there where several displays of honesty. One important one was when Josie broke up with Matt. Josie saw that she didn't want to be with someone like him, who hurt her all the time and made fun of her in front of his friends. Josie was honest to herself and to Matt about breaking up with him. Josie was honest with herself because she was thinking that she didn't want to be with him, so she did the same action, and broke up with him.
